2022 September -- Building Codes and Fire Safety: What Every CF and RF NEEDS to KNOW Right Now!
Updated On: Feb 26, 2024
We are getting information from providers in pockets around the state that they are being harassed and abused by local building code enforcement individuals. Currently the hottest spot right now appears to be Crook County where not only the building codes enforcement people (led by Terry Weitman) and the county Fire Marshall seem to be taking these sprinklers (and OLD OUTDATED CODES) to heart and are crusading to "clean up family child cares" -- or so it appears to a handful of providers according to their reports to our union. Please see the attached form for reference and share it with any provider (new or current) who is running into issues. And if you need help do not hesitate to reach out to Anneliese or one of our other stewards Lisa Duffield or Autumn David or to one of our Peer Advocates for Spanish assistance Ali Sanz, Brenda Sanz, Ana Rivera and Sabi Velasco. You can email all of us at oregonccpt132@gmail.com for quick assistance.
